Fun and relaxation

N did a ton of karate today, two hours in the middle of the day and two hours later in the evening ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I did the complete opposite: absolutely nothing ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜”

Well, in terms of exercise, that is. I did manage to cobble together a quick video from yesterdayโ€™s brunch, I actually had enough footage to work with ๐Ÿ‘ I hope the birthday girl liked it. If anything, itโ€™s the thought that counts ๐Ÿ˜Š This whole vlogging business is so much fun, though. I really should do more, I enjoy making them so much ๐Ÿ˜„

N is also doing some research for me in the camera space. The difference between us, though, is that he is willing to spend a lot more money on technology than I am. So the camera he suggested to me is 5x more than what Iโ€™m willing to spend ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ FIVE TIMES! So I didnโ€™t even look at the specs of the camera. But for that price, Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s pretty damn awesome. Or least it better be!

Anyway, I still need to read up on the various options that I have. I still have no idea what I want to buy! ๐Ÿ˜’

And I finally finished Crash Landing On You, five months later. I donโ€™t know exactly when I started watching that drama, all I know is that it took me months to finish it! Not that it was bad or anything, it was just that I never really had the time to watch it. And when I was watching TV, it was usually with N, and Korean dramas arenโ€™t really his thing, so we usually just watch whatever American show looks interesting.

But Iโ€™ve finally finished it, so now itโ€™s time to find a new show. Actually, weโ€™ve also just finished Community, so if you have any suggestions for our new show (or an Asian drama for me ๐Ÿ˜‰), then please let me know! ๐Ÿ™

The universe is laughing

I was still really tired when I woke up this morning, but I only really have one full day left in HK, so I pushed myself to get out of the hotel room at a decent time and make the most of the day. I was supposed to meet my friend for lunch today, but she pushed it back to tomorrow, so that meant my day was suddenly freed up – and I had no idea what to do! I’m not good with thinking on my feet ๐Ÿ˜‚

I went and had brunch at this cafe on Swatow Street in Wan Chai. This street has quite a few western style cafes, interspersed among an otherwise rather local street. One thing that I cannot (or probably more, refuse to ๐Ÿ˜‚) change is my affinity for western style breakfasts. I do have the occasional SG local breakfast, but by and large, if I’m going to eat out for breakfast/brunch, I will tend to choose a western style place over anything else. Even if I’m somewhere in Asia, where such breakfasts are hard to find, are expensive, and won’t necessarily be any good! ๐Ÿ˜”

While at brunch, I decided to look for a dance studio for N to train at while he’s in HK for the coming week. I went to visit a few potential places, one of which was in Tin Hau, an area that we walked through yesterday that is near Victoria Park. And since I was in the area again, I decided to walk through Victoria Park for the second time in two days. For a weekday, it was still surprisingly busy!

Somewhere along the way, I realised that I forgot my umbrella at the first studio that I visited! It would’ve been fine if it was my umbrella, but it was the hotel’s, and I didn’t want to be charged for not returning their umbrella! So I had to go all the way back to my starting point ๐Ÿ˜” And that’s assuming that no one has nicked it in the few hours that I left it there.

I got out of the subway station nearest the dance studio, and the first thing that I noticed was that it had started to rain! Argh, how ironic to be heading back to pick up my umbrella, only to be caught in the rain while doing so! ๐Ÿ˜†

Luckily it was still there, so I picked it up and then headed back to the hotel afterwards. And of course, there was no need for the umbrella at this point, the rain had stopped! ๐Ÿ˜ซ It’s like the universe was just laughing at me today!

I got the chance to go to the gym in the hotel before going out for N’s birthday dinner. Apart from all the walking that I’ve done the past few days, this was the only exercise I have managed to get in during my time in HK. I am hoping to perhaps get one more session in tomorrow before I fly out, but that may not happen, since I still have a few things to do tomorrow. But we’ll see ๐Ÿ˜Š

Birthday โ€œhighsโ€

I spent the day with our friend who’s here on holidays. It was her birthday today, so I thought it’d be nice to spend the day wandering around SG with her. We actually had very beautiful weather: blue sky, and a slight breeze to keep us relatively cool โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ

We started the day with a traditional SG breakfast (kopi and kaya toast ๐Ÿ˜‹), followed by a walk up at the Skypark at Marina Bay Sands. From up there, I could see that the Art Zoo is up! I sooo want to go, it looks so cuuuute on a massive scale! ๐Ÿ˜†

Art Zoo! I wanna go!

After the Skypark, we decided to go high up again, this time up the OCBC Skyway at Gardens by the Bay. It was actually quite windy today, so we could feel it at both the Skypark and the Skyway. As a result, we were holding onto our phones and cameras much more tightly! But look at the view! Totally worth holding onto the cameras, right?!

And then for dinner, we went for chilli crab ๐Ÿฆ€, followed by a drink up at 1-Altitude. The view from up there is amazing, and the atmosphere pretty chill (well, at the oldies time that we were there, anyway – at 10pm ๐Ÿ˜†). We should go up there more often, even if just to admire the view!

Gorgeous view from 1-Altitude

So overall, it was a fun day, all about being up high in the sky! ๐Ÿ‘
