A good job distracting myself again

It was a tough day today 😔 And on tough days, I try and distract myself.

Firstly, I got a haircut. I don’t like getting my hair cut, as you probably already know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while now. But if you have shorter hair, you have to get regular haircuts to keep it looking decent. So I leave it until I can’t stand how unruly it looks, and then I go to the hairdresser’s 😆 But my hairdresser today said that if I want to grow it long, then keep my haircuts to just once every 2-3 months. SURE!! Happy to oblige! 😂

And then I spent the rest of the day thinking about this new business venture of mine. I spent time thinking about its name; my first product offering and how to price it; website design and hosting; a membership option… And I also spent some time doing some research on other websites that I like and looking at how they’ve designed their site and what it is about their site that appeals to me. And then of course how they entice people to sign up and join the programs or buy whatever it is that they’re offering. I find this part really difficult so I’m paying closer attention to this aspect of people’s websites at the moment.

And then I spent some time looking at sofas again. I need to make a decision. Getting one will definitely make my home life much more comfortable!

Overall, I think I did a good job of distracting myself today 😊

The universe had my back today

Omg I got the dates wrong for the Wallabies vs All Blacks rugby match! It was actually on tonight, not on the weekend, as I thought. Luckily I turned on the TV at just the right time, it was a good game! I would’ve been so disappointed if I had missed it.

Despite the weather forecast, it was dry when I went to meet friends for lunch today, and not too wet on my way home. And we got a table! The place was mega packed. Lucky someone was early and managed to grab a table for us before the crowds came.

One of the people who came today is very entrepreneurial. She’s also one of those crazy smart people who just thinks differently to us mere mortals, but she doesn’t make you feel like she lives on a totally different intellectual stratosphere. So I am very inspired! I’ve always wanted to have my own business. I’ve sorta started with my YouTube channel, but it’s nowhere near where it could actually sustain me. So talking to her really inspires me. I hope I can learn a lot of things from her.

So I feel like the universe was looking out for me today 🙏

Ambitious and motivated

I just discovered that I hadn’t seen a few comments to some of my posts here, OMG 😳 I feel so bad that I didn’t respond until now. I apologise if you were one of the people who commented on one of my posts last year and I only just replied back today! 😔

There’s this one YouTuber that I follow because she’s quite inspiring. She’s built her freelancing business to quite a successful one in just a few years. I’ve been thinking about setting up my own business for a while now, but today, she’s motivated me to actually make this happen 😱

So I did a ton of research about how to set up a website and how to create an email list, and also thought a bit more about what type of digital products I could sell. And I learnt a marketing term today: a lead magnet! And I already have an idea for my lead magnet! 😱 OMG I feel like I’m learning so much at the moment. It’s great 👍🏻

So I’ve set a goal for myself to have my website up and running in the next week or two, and to have my lead magnet all set up and ready to get people in to sign up soon after that. But once they sign up, what happens then?? LOL So many things to think about – and then do! 😱

That’s my short-term goal. My slightly longer-term goal is to have my first digital product all created and ready by the end of June. OMG that’s only three months away. Ambitious, I know, but for some reason, having this self-imposed deadline is really spurring me on to actually make this happen.

And now that I’ve told you my plans, I feel like I’m committing that little bit more to this ambitious goal 😱
