Fun and relaxation

N did a ton of karate today, two hours in the middle of the day and two hours later in the evening 😱 I did the complete opposite: absolutely nothing 🤣😔

Well, in terms of exercise, that is. I did manage to cobble together a quick video from yesterday’s brunch, I actually had enough footage to work with 👍 I hope the birthday girl liked it. If anything, it’s the thought that counts 😊 This whole vlogging business is so much fun, though. I really should do more, I enjoy making them so much 😄

N is also doing some research for me in the camera space. The difference between us, though, is that he is willing to spend a lot more money on technology than I am. So the camera he suggested to me is 5x more than what I’m willing to spend 🤣🤣 FIVE TIMES! So I didn’t even look at the specs of the camera. But for that price, I’m sure it’s pretty damn awesome. Or least it better be!

Anyway, I still need to read up on the various options that I have. I still have no idea what I want to buy! 😒

And I finally finished Crash Landing On You, five months later. I don’t know exactly when I started watching that drama, all I know is that it took me months to finish it! Not that it was bad or anything, it was just that I never really had the time to watch it. And when I was watching TV, it was usually with N, and Korean dramas aren’t really his thing, so we usually just watch whatever American show looks interesting.

But I’ve finally finished it, so now it’s time to find a new show. Actually, we’ve also just finished Community, so if you have any suggestions for our new show (or an Asian drama for me 😉), then please let me know! 🙏

Meh

It wasn’t the most exciting day, nor the most productive. It was basically just meh 😑

The most exciting part of my day was probably watching the second last episode of Crash Landing On You, my current Korean drama that’s taking me foreverrr to finish. It’s not my favourite, but it’s good enough, so I’ll take it all the way to the end 😆 I have quite a few other Korean dramas in the queue, so I’ll be glad to finally finish this one! I feel like I’ve been watching it for months 🙄 Well, it probably has been months, since I only watch an average of one episode a week, if that 😂

Oh and I started watching a tutorial on using DaVinci Resolve, that free editing software that I downloaded on the weekend.

So yeah, these were the most exciting parts to my day. I hope you had a more interesting day than me! 🤪

Addicted

When I woke up this morning, there was all this thunder and lightning outside . I figured it was going to be one of those days where I just stay home 😔

And I did 🤣 I managed to get my next YouTube video out, and then I also called my parents. I watched some more of my current Korean drama (Crash Landing On You) and then fell asleep on the couch 🤣 Don’t you just love days like this?!? 😂

N asked if I was wearing perfume earlier. I said no, it’s probably from the essential oil diffuser! I have the damn thing on all day, I can’t get enough of it! I swear I’m addicted. I love, love bergamot! 💕 I can’t get enough of this essential oil! I love scents in general, but I have somehow become addicted to this particular one. I have my diffuser on whenever I’m working, and I also have a portable diffuser so I can continue to have the essential oil around me wherever I am. And I also put drops of the essential oil into my mask for the day. It actually makes me want to wear a mask when I’m outside! Yep, I’m totally addicted! 😂

Compassion and gratitude

I was feeling all compassionate and grateful today 🥰 I should try and bring in more gratitude into my days, try and come up with three things that I’m grateful for at the end of each day. It’s such a different mindset when you think in terms of gratitude, and I just feel happier when I do. I probably could’ve done with some of this during the week! 😂

The weather was still 💩 so I didn’t really feel like going out today. And then N had a Zoom catch-up with some mates from Sydney at 2pm HK time anyway, so I figured we may as well just stay home. And then maybe go out later in the evening, if we wanted to. Pffft, as if we did 🤣 But I did manage to finish my next YouTube video, and I also got through an episode of Crash Landing On You, my current Korean drama 😆 I need relaxation goals too! 😌

Hopefully the weather will be a little bit better tomorrow, and I’ll actually feel like heading out for a bit of a walk somewhere 🤞

My crappy week continues (or does it?)

Aaand my crappy week continues: I woke up with a headache, and I never managed to get get rid of it, even after taking a quick nap in the afternoon. It lingered around for the entire day 😔 Thankfully it was only mild, and I still managed to do stuff throughout the day. I still think the crappy weather isn’t helping my mood…

My one and only goal for the day was to film my next video, and I actually managed to do that! 😲 I even surprised myself 😂 And that’s even with Little Miss scratching at the door; some baby upstairs (or downstairs, I don’t know exactly) crying; and people generally making noise in the apartment upstairs 🙄 Hopefully very little of their noise actually found its way onto the audio… 🤞

And then in the evening, we watched the first episode of season three of Community. This is the western tv show that I’m currently making my way through. I’m still slowly working my way through the Korean drama, Crash Landing On You 😊

Okay, so it wasn’t the worst day. But I’ve had better 😆

A continuation

Today was basically a continuation of yesterday: I worked on my next YouTube video and then watched some more TV 😆

I decided to give Crash Landing On You a second chance, a Korean drama released last year. It’s been getting good reviews, but I just couldn’t get into it. It took me aaages to get through the first eight episodes because the story just moved too slowly for my liking. But today, I decided to persevere and give it a second chance. The pace has stepped up and I’m much more interested now! If it can maintain this for the remainder of the series, then I’ll definitely be able to finish it 👍

And HK had no new cases again today, woohoo! This is really promising news 👏

Korean tv and movies

I wanted to go to a park in Wan Chai that apparently has cherry blossoms. I’ve never seen cherry blossoms in real life (I mean in nature, so excluding Gardens by the Bay in SG) so I’m really hoping that they’re still blooming. I know cherry blossoms only have a very limited lifespan each year, something like two weeks, so I don’t know if I’m too late this year.

We didn’t quite make it out of the house today, though, so hopefully we can find the cherry blossoms tomorrow 🤞🌸🌸🌸🤞

We watched Parasite today. It was good! I really enjoyed it. I haven’t written about them lately because I haven’t been watching them, but I looove Korean dramas. So I figured I would also like Korean movies. And I definitely enjoyed this movie!

And then I found a new potential Korean drama: Hi Bye, Mama! Crash Landing On You hasn’t really grabbed me, so I’m still wondering if I should persevere and continue with it. But it has been mega popular… I haven’t been watching much tv lately, though, so not sure if I’m going to watch either anyway! 😔

Day two at home

Day two of being holed up at home. I think we were both more productive than we were yesterday, so maybe we’ve already gotten used to this temporary arrangement 👍

Someone on HelloTalk mentioned a Korean drama called Crash Landing on You, so I went and looked it up. It’s actually on Netflix here! One of the good things about living in HK is getting both western and Asian shows on Netflix! 😂 I got through about half of the first episode, but had to stop watching so that I could keep to my 10-11pm HKT sleep schedule. I’m still trying to maintain the same sleep schedule that I had when we were in Sydney last week, trying to get closer to my goal of becoming a morning person. It’s been toughhhh, but I still have a fair way to go get before it becomes a habit. But I’m pushing on!
